Parents Against Negative Interventions by Child Youth and Family Services (CYFS) in New Zealand offers practical help, advice and support
for those affected by the child protection system.
This website contains information for parents who might have their children taken into care by social workers of the Department of Child Youth and Family Services, or have a case before the New Zealand Family Court under the provisions of the Children, Young Persons and Their Families Act 1989.
It also contains information concerning the human rights of children and their parents, the social issues caused by false allegations of child abuse and the impact of negative or inappropriate interventions by social workers seeking to protect children from allegations of child abuse but ignoring the rights of the child and the social worker's responsibilities to parents trying to raise those children.
